Terms of Service — MyRelations

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and My Relations ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of this app. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Plain-language summary
- The app stores your journal locally on your device only. There is no account, no email, no password, no cloud sync, and we never see your journal.
- You own everything you write. You can export it as JSON or wipe it instantly from inside the app.
- You can use the app for free for 3 sessions. After that, two paid options unlock unlimited use: a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The lifetime offer is a launch promo — limited slots, may end at any time.
- Standard "as-is" service, France-based governing law, plain-English terms. No surprises.
1. The service
MyRelations is a single-device, local-only mobile app that lets you privately journal your relationship moments — log sessions, ratings, moods, notes, partners, and statistics. Everything stays on your device. The service is provided "as is" and evolves over time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use MyRelations (the App Store rates the app 17+ due to the "intimate" session category). If you are below the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf. The app is not intended for children.
3. No accounts in v1
This version of MyRelations does not have user accounts. There is nothing to register, no password to manage, and no credentials to lose. The app and your data are tied to the device you install on. If you uninstall the app, your local data is removed by the operating system. If you switch devices, your data does not transfer (export to JSON before switching if you want to keep a copy).
4. Subscriptions and payments
Plans
- Monthly: €3.99 / $4.99 per month. Auto-renewing subscription billed by the App Store or Google Play. Cancel anytime in your store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Lifetime (launch promo): €34.99 / $39.99 one-time non-consumable purchase. The lifetime offer is available at our discretion as a limited launch promo (intended cap: 1,000 buyers globally). We may end the offer at any time without notice. Once you have paid for and received a lifetime entitlement, that entitlement does not expire — but the availability of the offer to new buyers is not a contractual guarantee.
After the first 3 free sessions, the paywall appears and one of the plans above is required to keep logging.
Billing details
- All payments are processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) under their respective terms. We never see your card number, billing address, or any payment instrument data. We receive only an anonymous purchase event via RevenueCat (see Privacy Policy §3.3).
- Auto-renewal for the monthly plan happens automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date through your App Store or Google Play account settings. We cannot cancel for you.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their store policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support.
- Price changes for the monthly plan will be announced in-app at least 30 days in advance. You can cancel before the new price applies.
- Free tier: the first 3 sessions are free. We may change what is free vs. paid in future versions with reasonable notice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose.
- Log content involving minors in any sexual or exploitative context.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app beyond what is permitted by mandatory law in your jurisdiction.
- Attempt to defraud the App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat by chargebacks or fake refund claims after using the entitlement in good faith.
- Resell, rebrand, or redistribute the app without our written permission.
Because the app is local-only, there is no shared service to abuse and no other users to harm — but the rules above still apply on principle.
6. Your content
- You own your journal content. We claim no ownership of what you write in the app.
- The app does not transmit your journal content anywhere. We do not store, display, or process your content on any server. There is no backup we maintain — only the local SQLite database on your device, plus any export you choose to create.
- You are responsible for the content you log. If you include information about another person, make sure your use complies with applicable privacy laws (e.g. GDPR) in your jurisdiction.
- You are responsible for backing up your data. The app provides Settings → Export my data (JSON) for this purpose. We will not be able to recover content you lose by uninstalling, wiping the app, switching devices without exporting, losing the device, or any similar event.
7. Our content and IP
The My Relations name, logo, app code, design, and brand are owned by My Relations. You may not copy, redistribute, or reuse them without written permission. Nothing in these Terms grants you any IP rights in the service beyond the limited right to use the app for its intended purpose under the plan you have purchased.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the app you agree to that policy. The short version: your journal stays on your device, nothing leaves except what's strictly required for purchases and the public lifetime-promo counter.
9. Availability and changes
- We try to keep the app working but we don't guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or bug-free operation.
- We may add, remove, or change features at any time.
- We may require you to update to the latest app version to keep using paid features. Older versions may stop working with new App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat infrastructure changes.
- We may discontinue the app entirely with reasonable notice. If we do, we will document the local data format so technically inclined users can read their exported JSON, and we will leave the export feature working through the deprecation period.
10. Termination
- You can wipe your data anytime via Settings → Delete all data, and uninstall the app.
- We may terminate your access to paid features if you violate these Terms in a way that affects the service (e.g. a chargeback fraud), if we are required by law, or if continued operation becomes commercially or technically impossible. Because we hold no account, termination effectively means revoking your entitlement on the RevenueCat side; your local journal remains on your device.
11. Disclaimers
MyRelations is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of statistics, and non-infringement.
MyRelations is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic service. It is a journaling tool. The streak, rating, and stats features are for personal reflection only and are not a substitute for professional advice. If you are in crisis or need mental-health support, please contact a qualified professional.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, business, or goodwill, even if we were advised of the possibility.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits — in those places, the limits apply to the maximum extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot be excluded by mandatory consumer law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim or demand (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Paris, France — unless you are a consumer resident in the EU, in which case you may bring claims in the courts of your country of residence as required by EU consumer law.

15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes (e.g. price changes, scope changes, anything affecting your rights or obligations in a non-trivial way) will be announced in-app or via a banner on https://my-relations.app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that period means you accept the new Terms. If you don't accept the changes, stop using the app and request a refund through the App Store / Google Play within their refund window.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. We will replace the unenforceable provision with one that comes closest to the intent of the original.
